Children and Youth

Youth & Family Ministries of First Lutheran Church care for God’s children in the many ages and stages of life beginning with birth and baptism. This ministry teaches families God's promise given in baptism and shares the gospel so that faith in Jesus Christ is the foundation of their homes.

JUMP TO A SECTION:

“Hear, O Israel: the Lord is our God, the Lord alone. You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might. Keep these words that I am commanding you today in your heart. Recite them to your children and talk about them when you are at home and when you are away, when you lie down and when you rise. Bind them as a sign on your hand, fix them as an emblem on your forehead, and write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.” Deuteronomy 6:4-9

HyVee Card Fundraiser

The HyVee card fundraiser is the simplest and best fundraiser we can imagine. Simply bring cash or check to purchase a HyVee gift card ($25, $50, $100, or $200). You pay for the amount you need, and HyVee gives us 5% back. This is a great fundraiser for general fundraising, where all benefit, but it can also be used for your individual fundraising account.

Planning to go on a trip in the future? Start buying now, and you'll be amazed at how quickly it adds up.

MILESTONE MINISTRY

God knew we’d need reminders to stop and tell the stories—the stories of God and his people, the story of God’s Son, and our own faith stories. First Lutheran Church gives pebbles as reminders to tell the stories…on special occasions…and every day. Read more.
