2018 National Youth Gathering
Houston, Texas will be June 25 to July 1
Over 30,000 Lutherans will gather in Houston next summer for the ELCA National Youth Gathering. Although it seems far away, First Lutheran Church is already signing up for the youth gathering. Over 20 students are on the list to go, but we have plenty more room for others.
From June 25 through July 2, First Lutheran youth and adult leaders will be riding a bus down to Houston, TX, for a week of spiritual formation, service, worship and interactive learning. We’ll hear some amazing speakers, check out the great food of Houston and give back to the community in the massive way only such a gathering of people can.
Having registration this early allows for FLC youth to save money with early-bird registration and begin their fundraising early. The total cost is $1000 for the trip, with significant portions of that covered by individual and general fundraising.
To learn more about the Youth Gathering, talk to Elias Youngquist, Youth Minister, in the Youth and Family Ministry office. This is an amazing experience and we would hate for anyone to miss out on it!

These are the options for your children to attend camp with First Lutheran staff and other First Lutheran campers. First Lutheran staff will transport campers and be there with them for the week. Camping is a significant faith experience for many children and families. We encourage you to take a look and make church camp a priority for your family this summer.
