Christian Apologetics
Dr. LaMoyne Pederson

  • Nov. 8: The Christian Faith in a Pluralistic Age
  • Nov. 15: God, Ethical Relativism, and the Search for Moral Foundations

What is faith? What is reason? And how are the two related? Can truth be universalized beyond one’s own personal experience? What does this do for making moral arguments? How does a Christian share the faith?

The Freedom of a Christian
Pastor Lars Olson

  • Oct. 11, 18, & 25

One of Luther’s most beloved, important, and cited works gives us a springboard to ask, “What does it mean to believe as a Christian, freed from sin but bound to serve my neighbor?”

Handel’s Messiah
Donna Johnson

  • Nov. 29, Dec. 6 & 13

Do you remember the first time you heard the Hallelujah Chorus? Were you ever blessed to participate in a performance of Handel’s Messiah? Have you ever paid attention to the lyrics? Have you ever run into them while perusing your Bible? Did you feel goosebumps the first time you heard “And the glory of the Lord shall be re-vea-led” and recognized it as part of God’s message of comfort, deliverance and restoration to the kingdoms of Israel and Judah after release from their captivity (Is 40:5)? Come participate in a study of the scriptures, the history and the music of Handel’s Messiah in preparation for Advent.
