Project CAR is a non-profit transportation system that provides safe, efficient transportation for Sioux Falls citizens who are involved in activities scheduled by the supporting organizations. Project CAR volunteers are the key to independence and quality of life for those who are in need of transportation. Volunteer drivers use Project CAR vehicles to take Senior Companion and Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) volunteers and clients of South Dakota Achieve and Dakotabilities to their assignments and special scheduled activities.
Project CAR also provides transportation for members of eight different churches to worship services and volunteer opportunities. Project CAR’s purpose is to provide safe, efficient transportation Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and Sunday, 7:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. Funding is obtained from sponsor contributions, individual donations, and an annual fundraiser.
Volunteer drivers are needed. Contact Kate Heligas at (605) 332-2777.
