The First Lutheran Church parish nurse organizes various health-related activities and is available for health-related and post-hospitalization questions. Cancer Support Group
When God and Cancer Meet cancer support group meets the first Thursday of the month at 1:30 p.m. in the Friendship Room. This is a group where all sharing is confidential, and where participants listen to and pray for each other.

Care Mobile

The Ronald McDonald Care Mobile comes to First Luthearn Church once a year. Children and young adults up to age 21 can receive dental care at no cost if they have not seen a dentist for two years and are unable to afford dental care. Call Paula Bartels, parish nurse, at (605) 339-1983, ext. 24, to learn about the next scheduled visit. 

Elizabeth Ministry
Elizabeth Ministry is an outreach to women. Following the biblical example of Mary and Elizabeth (see Luke 1:39-56), we visit and share the sacredness of life. The purpose of this ministry is to affirm, support, encourage and assist women in response to their needs during the childbearing years. A caring ministry that provides volunteers who offer respite to individuals providing care to their family members.

Faithfully Fit Forever
Faithfully Fit Forever is chair exercise for men and women of all ages. A devotional and health tip help is part of Faithfully Fit. Its a great way to take care of your body physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. Facillitated by Howard Bich. The chair exercise class does not meet during the summer months.

SIGH (Stepping Into Good Health)
A program for those with limited income who cannot afford foot care. Glucose, cholesterol, and blood pressure screening is also offered. This clinic is available to members of First Lutheran and the community. SIGH meets at Falls Community Health (521 N Main) on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 12:30 p.m. until 4 p.m.

Blood Mobile
The Blood Mobile comes to First Lutheran the first Sunday of April and October. Howard Bich is the coordinator. Appointment times can be set up or drop-ins are welcome.

Blood Pressure Screening
Registered nurses are available to take blood pressure in the library the first Sunday of the month from 9-11:15 a.m. The parish nurse also does blood pressure checks in the parish nurse office during office hours on Wednesday and Thursday. Call to set up an appointment or stop in.
