NIV - Jude 1:24
To him who is able…
Have you noticed a troll doll is ugly? Some say it is the troll’s ugliness that makes it endearing? Depends on how you see it.
A child of God can get ugly. God’s child has free will. As a result, a child of God does not always stay within the protection of God, but sins. Because of free will, a child may not seek forgiveness (resolution). Their demeanor remains sunk. If the sunken attitude continues, the child of God hardens, getting all curled up inside, folded up, refusing to let God act, choosing to remain ugly.
Sin is ugly. Forgiven sin is ugliness which (dare I say it) endears us to God. God is able to see us differently. Understand, HE IS ABLE to present/set each person in His presence without fault, without blemish, cute. What is even more remarkable is that He shares His vision. When He sees through forgiveness He sees Jesus imprinted on the child of God. God sees His beloved child.
NIV Romans 6:6-7 "For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin-- because anyone who has died has been freed from sin."
Romans 6:11 (GW) "So consider yourselves dead to sin's power but living for God in the power Christ Jesus gives you."
1. If given a choice, would you rather BE SEEN or NOT BE SEEN by God?
2. Are you ugly? Why?
3. What does it mean, “…consider yourselves dead to sin’s power…?”
4. Do you find any courage from knowing you can be forgiven?
5. Have you been freed from Sin?
