The Lord Preserve you and Keep you – the troll in the dome

Barbara Siebelts's picture
When I was a child, my brother had a troll doll.  It stood under a protective clear dome fitted to a wood base on top of Mom’s upright piano.  That troll doll was very attractive to me, being a little sister.  There was something about that dome, though, which prevented me from ever touching the troll doll.
1. I knew my brother had put the dome there.
2. I knew my brother had more power than I ever would.
3. I knew my brother had Dad and Mom on his side.
In the same way, Jesus has put his protection over those who are adopted into His family through His death and life.  I know Satan and his compatriots cannot harm me because of the Dome of Protection I received in Christ Jesus.
1. I know my Brother, Jesus, has put the dome there.
2. I know my Brother, Jesus, has more power than any other being.
3. I know my Brother, Jesus, has Father God and Holy Spirit on His side.
New International – Psalms 119:50
My comfort in my suffering is this: Your promise preserves my life.
New International – Psalms 138:7
Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you preserve my life; you stretch out your hand against the anger of my foes, with your right hand you save me.
1. When have you felt preserved by Jesus’ protection?
2. Is Jesus’ dome of protection only on your outside?
3. Who is in this dome of Jesus’ protection beside yourself?
4. What difference does it make in my life that I have Father God, Brother Jesus, and Holy Spirit protecting me?
5. Is it only in the midst of trouble that my life is preserved?
