Initiative Goals:

  1. To create a culture of care and openness for people and their loved ones with alcohol and other drug addictions in our congregations.
  2. To build a reputation in the community that our congregations are safe places for people and their loved ones with alcohol and other drug addictions to seek and find help.
  3. To increase understanding of addiction as a disease.
  4. To build a networked community of knowledgeable referring partners.
  5. To motivate more people and their loved ones to get help for addiction.
  6. To be a community that engages the spirit in healing work.
  7. To increase capacity for and commitment to loving the neighbor struggling with alcohol and other drug additions through tangible acts of care.
  8. To annually showcase and celebrate our congregations’ commitment to creating a culture of caring for people and their loved ones suffering from alcohol and other drug addictions.
