FaithWalkers, for children from age 3 (by Sept. 1) through fifth-grade, encourages children to be life-long servants of Christ on their baptismal adventure of faith. FaithWalkers takes place on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings. FaithWalkers uses the workshop rotational model allowing for a fun, flexible way to learn. The Family Ministry Team offers a monthly fun event (mostly on Friday evenings) that is designed to offer families an opportunity for fellowship.
Vacation Bible School is offered one week each summer from 9 a.m. to noon. Staffed by volunteer parents and middle and high school youth, VBS allows children to interact with children of all ages in small and large group activities.
On the third Friday of each month (August - April), fourth- and fifth-graders gather for a light supper at 6 p.m. (no cost). Games and fellowship follow until 8 p.m. Friends are encouraged to come.
Camps and mission trips provide the kind of faith exploration and community experience that can give people of all ages blessings of faith, hope and love. Attending an outdoor ministry through camp or traveling on a mission trip to dicover how big the world is, renews and enhances spiritual growth. Lake Shetek is located an hour and a half northeast of Sioux Falls near Slayton, Minn. Shetek offers a one-day, three-day or five-day camp that provides an abundance of outdoor fun, small and large group activities and hands-on learning for kids from first through fifth grade.
NeSoDak is a safe place for youth to make friends, develop social skills and live in a grace-filled community as they learn about Christ’s love for them--all while enjoying a week at the lake with a caring, well trained, energetic, fun-loving staff. A week at NeSoDak is the beginning of many wonderful outdoor ministry memories. NeSoDak is on the shores of a pristine glacial lake near Waubay, S.D.
Pack 153, sponsored by First Lutheran Church, meets on Mondays at 6:45 p.m. in the Den. Cub Scouts is for boys in first grade through fifth grade.
First through fourth-graders can take part in a vocal choir, Carol Choir. Once a year, the Carol Choir leads a worship service in a program called From the Children.
